Madelyn Walters, of Hebron, is working for Farm Credit, in Mahomet, as a summer intern: ( ())

HEBRON – Madelyn Walters is participating in a summer internship program for college students at Farm Credit Services of Illinois. She is based in Farm Credit’s Mahomet corporate office.

Walters was raised on her family’s grain farm near Hebron and graduated from Alden-Hebron High School. She will be a junior in agricultural and consumer economics at the University of Illinois this fall.

Waters served as an assistant in the business office of the Department of Agricultural & Consumer Economics at U of I and worked with The Frost Group as a crop insurance assistant last summer.

She is a member of Sigma Alpha professional agricultural sorority and traveled to Brazil on the Sustainable Agriculture Spring Break Study Abroad Program last spring. She is the daughter of Phil and Sue Walters.

Oman receives chartered planning designation

WOODSTOCK – Timothy Oman of Woodstock, a Financial Advisor with the local office of Wells Fargo Advisors has completed training for the title of chartered retirement planning counselor. This program is offered through the College for Financial Planning, the country’s oldest provider of financial planning education.

“Financial advisors who are awarded the chartered retirement planning counselor title are not only prepared to identify opportunities in investments but also in such areas as insurance, tax-efficient investing, retirement and estate planning,” said Lisa Niemann, branch manager of Wells Fargo Advisors’ Woodstock office.

To become a CRPC, Oman completed 120 hours of training focused on subjects such as asset allocation, retirement planning and risk management.

Two Tails fundraiser to benefit 4-H of McHenry

WOODSTOCK – Two Tails Market & Eatery is partnering with several other local Woodstock business to host Cruisin@Two Tails, a car and motorcycle fundraiser to benefit 4-H of McHenry County.

The fundraiser runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28 at Two Tails, 2400 Lake Shore Drive, Woodstock.

The entire $15 registration fee and a percentage of the food sales will be donated to 4-H. It will help finance the renovation of the animal barns at the McHenry County Fairgrounds and furnish a memorial sponsorship sign in honor of three young members from long-time 4-H families – Jennifer Kearns, Grant Fruin, and Kevin Ziller.
