Family donates swimmer's organs

CRYSTAL LAKE – As Connor Priesz's family members decided to take him off of a ventilator Wednesday, they wanted to make sure good came from his death.



They donated the organs of the 18-year-old Prairie High School graduate, who had an apparent seizure while swimming Monday in the Fox River. He was taken off life support Wednesday moring and died about 11:30 a.m., said Brian Priesz, Connor's father.



"We made the decision to do the full-blown gift of life and donate all the organs including the heart," Brian Priesz said. "We've got a daughter with type 1 diabetes who might be in need of an organ some day. This is what Connor would have wanted and it ís the right thing to do."
