Found guilty?
To the Editor:
I like to know both sides of a story. Normally, most readers feel the same way. On June 28 on the front page, the Northwest Herald printed a story about a man who had pleaded guilty to two counts of hiring someone to hurt or kill a past customer of his. Why did the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office drop five other charges against this man? I’d like to know this. I’m sure there are others that would, too.
What was the background of the alleged victim? We know the background of the guy who was accused of this crime through the newspaper. What kind of financial situation provoked this matter? It just seems this is awfully one-sided. I want to read in your newspaper the full story, not just the guy pleaded guilty who had an awful picture on the front page.
