Early morning blaze destroys abandoned farmhouse
HUNTLEY – An abandoned farmhouse was destroyed during an early morning fire, according to the Huntley Fire Protection District.
Crews were called to 19N264 Briar Hill Road for a report of a structure fire at around 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to fire Cpt. David Eeg. The vacant farmhouse was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The blaze was under control by around 6:15 a.m., and crews remained on the scene this morning due to possibility of dry grass starting on fire.
