WOODSTOCK – “Makin’ a Splash!” is the theme for the 22nd annual McHenry County Children’s Health and Safety Fair at McHenry County College. The free fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at the college, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

More than 1,200 children and adults visited the fair last year, providing families with fun activities and important immunizations and physicals before the start of the new school year, according to a news release from the McHenry County Department of Health.

This year will offer animal characters, a visit from Ronald McDonald, a Flight for Life helicopter, the Crystal Lake Fire Department’s smoke house, a child ID system, school physicals, immunizations, dental exams and more than 40 interactive educational exhibits, plus door prizes.
