Musical influences

To the Editor:

We turn on the radio to listen to fine tunes while cooking or cleaning in our kitchen. Next, we go on the Internet to look up the latest songs on the top 100 list. Finally we’re in the car going to church and want peaceful music, and only find “breakup” or “I want you back” genres.

The music industry these days is promoting more tunes that have to do with a failed relationship, on-going love stories, and the pointless ones about the girl wanting the boy to call her back. Messages this music sends to our world is that every girl needs a boy to be happy and vice versa, when in the real world, that is not true. There is more to life than having a girl/boyfriend you text every second.
