Walsh astounds

To the Editor:

Perhaps you, like I, receive mailings from Congress amounting to thinly disguised campaign ads paid for by taxpayers. Phil Crane did it, Melissa Bean did it, and now Joe Walsh.

What caught my eye was the quote on the front of Walsh’s ad saying, “I will work every day to serve you.” As a political activist, this astounds me because I’ve asked him numerous times to vote for the reduction of student interest rates. Yet the weekly vote I subscribe to showed he voted against keeping interest rates low, which does not serve either my children or thousands of other struggling college students. With the vote being 373 for and 52 against, it shows how out of step Walsh’s vote was. But this isn’t the only vote against his constituents.
