Chicago man sentenced in CL burglary case
WOODSTOCK – A second man from Chicago has pleaded guilty in a case in which cars stolen from a Crystal Lake dealership were found on a ship about to head overseas.
Rafel D. Johnson, 22, pleaded guilty Tuesday to burglary and was sentenced to four years in prison as part of a deal accepted by Judge Joseph Condon. The sentence is to be served at the same time as a four-year sentence out of Lake County.
Crystal Lake police Cmdr. Derek Hyrkas said that on Oct. 3, employees of Anderson Motors, 360 N. Route 31, reported five vehicles stolen from the lot: a Volkswagen Tiguan, a Volkswagen Jetta, two BMW 328is, and a BMW 335xi.
