Woman charged with stalking Cubs president

CHICAGO – A Massachusetts woman has been charged with stalking Chicago Cubs President Theo Epstein after she was arrested trying to deliver a birthday present to his young son at his Chicago home.

Prosecutors say 44-year-old Kathleen Kearney of Canton, Mass., had tried to contact Epstein several times when he was the general manager of the Boston Red Sox. She flew to Chicago Monday, rented a red Mustang and used the car's navigation system to get to Epstein's home. She told Epstein's wife she had a backpack and birthday banner for their son.

Kearney appeared in a Cook County courtroom Tuesday where she was charged with two felony counts of stalking. Bond was set at $75,000.
