Meet the public

To the Editor:

Let’s talk about Leslie Coolidge, who’s running as a Democrat for Congress in the 6th District.

On her website in March were statements about Social Security. She said she was in favor of “reforming” it. This worries me. “Reform” of this valuable program these days means privatizing the funds and turning our money over to the casino known as Wall Street. When my son wrote and asked her what she meant by this reform, there was no response and she simply removed her statement from her website.

There are many more things involved in governing our country than balancing the books. What are her views on war? Does she think the current bloated budget for the Pentagon is desirable? How does she feel about outsourcing our jobs? What about increasing funding for education? Fair taxation? Looking out for the middle class?

I have so many questions and so few answers. We want to know what Ms. Coolidge stands for. It’s time to meet the public and answer our questions.
