Route 47 ready for takeoff in Huntley

HUNTLEY – Walking over from the Route 47 office building he owns but has struggled to rent out recently, Dave Bunge felt a sense of relief.

Bunge, a Barrington resident who works in Huntley, was at Deicke Park Tuesday night for the Route 47 re-opening event celebrating the conclusion of a two-year, $24-million widening project. Representatives from the city, Huntley Chamber, local businesses and community members came out to hear a speech from Mayor Charles Sass and take part in the ribbon cutting.

The project, which reached a substantial completion a couple months back, created five lanes and widened intersections along Route 47.
