Some logic
To the Editor:
Is it a tax or a fine? It only affects 1 percent of the people, but the fearmongers will blow this up to such proportions that it won’t matter. Remember that during President George W. Bush’s eight years, the GOP made no effort to stop the huge increases in medical costs. And now, after 100 years of trying, we finally have a courageous president who made health care reform happen. So all of you critics who are listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sen. Mitch McConnell, think about it.
We have a mandatory auto insurance law. What’s the difference? Without such laws, it means that the rest of us pay for the uninsured, whether medical or auto damage. If abolished, who will pay the medical bills for seniors, chronically ill children, etc.?
