Thomas crowned Miss McHenry 2012

Sixteen-year-old Maculey Thomas was crowned Miss McHenry 2012 during the 63rd annual Miss McHenry Pageant on June 23 at McHenry West Campus High School.

Thirteen contestants competed in front of more than 400 people. The contestants spent the past two months preparing for the competition, in addition to completing a community service project, volunteering and fundraising at activities throughout McHenry.

After spending the day interviewing with the judges, the evening program began with an opening dance number. The contestants then gave a speech about their sponsors, and modeled aerobic wear and evening gowns. The last portion of the competition was the final question. This year, there were two final questions.

The crowd was entertained by Rachel Nalley, Miss McHenry 2011, and Jesse Thielsen during the first intermission and Caitlin Smulski Gomez, Miss McHenry 2003, during the third intermission. Gomez also emceed this year’s pageant.

Other winners were Olivia Wigman, first runner-up and Miss Photogenic, Sarah Wandall, second runner-up, Chloe Brown, third runner-up, Kenzie Lullo, fourth runner-up, and Erica Patterson, Miss Congeniality.
