LITH police to host
National Night Out event

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Lake in the Hills Police Department invites residents to join the department during the village’s National Night Out Celebration on Aug. 7 and Aug. 11.

National Night Out is a program designed to get the village’s neighborhoods involved in a “stand against crime in their community.”

Block parties will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 7. Police officers and village officials will be on hand, according to a news release.

A Community Cook Out will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road. There will be displays and demonstrations, station tours, a K-9 demonstration, a chance to participate in the Fatal Vision Golf Cart Course, and a booth with nonlethal ammunition, known as simunitions.
