McCaleb: Heroic reactions by local men in Colo. theater
John Larimer and Steven Ostergaard are heroes.
As a madman opened fire in a crowded Colorado movie theater, the first instinct of both McHenry County men who were there that night was not to protect themselves, but to help those around them.
That doesn’t make the tragic deaths of Larimer, of Crystal Lake, and 11 others in Aurora, Colo., any easier to take. But it needs to be said.
