Algonquin roads to close for Founders' Days festivities

ALGONQUIN – Police have planned a handful of road closures Saturday and Sunday as part of the annual Founders’ Days festivities.

On Saturday, Routes 31 and 62 will be closed and traffic will be diverted at 10 a.m. for the Founders’ Days parade at 11 a.m. It starts at Eastgate Drive and Route 62 and travels west on Route 62 over the Fox River and then south on Route 31. The parade will end at Railroad Street.

Route 31 will be closed at Huntington Drive and traffic diverted onto Huntington. No traffic will be allowed onto Route 31 side streets of
LaFox River, Division or Jayne, with the exception of residents of the subdivision.
