CRYSTAL LAKE – Crystal Lake and Lakewood have planned special collection days to help residents clean up after Wednesday's storms.

The Crystal Lake Public Works Department will collect tree debris Monday through Wednesday for residents from Country Club Road to Lake Avenue between Meridian Street and Nash Road.

Residents should have all debris to be collected moved to the parkway by 7 a.m. Monday. Debris must be less than 8 feet long and 8 inches in diameter, according to a news release from Crystal Lake Superintendent of Streets Larry Zurek.

Other Crystal Lake residents can request a debris pickup Monday by calling the Public Works Department at 815-356-3614 or drop off storm debris at Waste Water Plant No. 2 at the intersection of Coventry Lane and Dartmoor Drive.

Lakewood has scheduled an unbundled brush pickup to begin at 7 a.m. Monday. For this pickup, brush must be less than 15 feet long and 8 inches in diameter, according to a news release from Public Works Director Paul Ruscko.

Brush should be stacked neatly with trunks facing the street. Bagged landscape waste won't be picked up. Residents with questions can call Village Hall at 815-459-3025.
