Cohen to headline charity folk festival

McHENRY – Memphis-based blues musician Andy Cohen, who performed in the area in the spring, will return to headline a minifolk festival at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 on the lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road.

“Just Plain Folk – Songs About Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things” also will feature longtime Chicago-based folk musician Norman “Mad Dawg” Siegel and McHenry County’s own The Siblings – Cheryl Niemo, Harold Rail, Dave Dreyer and Andy Andrick.

There will be festival-style lawn seating, similar to Ravinia or events on Woodstock Square. Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy music in the summer air.
