Memo details $4.5M in Old Courthouse needs

WOODSTOCK – City officials haven’t released a condition report regarding the Old Courthouse, but an unrelated city memo offered a few clues as to what it might cost to put the building back into private hands.

Architects said it will cost $4.5 million to make all the necessary repairs to the Old Courthouse. However, the city is considering making a little more than $2 million of those renovations, assuming a private developer will do the rest.

Renovations such as interior work, new plumbing, electrical and HVAC and a new elevator are projects best completed by the building’s future owners, officials said.
