As part of a tribute to McHenry County veterans who have died, the Illinois Patriot Guard Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall will be on display Aug. 2 at the McHenry County Fair.
At 6:30 p.m., antique tractors will be on parade in front of the grandstand with a 21-tractor salute to veterans.
Music will be provided by the Crystal Lake Community Band. Veterans will be admitted free to the fairgrounds.

District 200 Superintendent Ellyn Wrzeski has announced the appointment of Justin Smith as assistant principal at Woodstock North High School.
Smith replaces Tamra Ropeter, who accepted the position of principal at DeKalb High School.
Smith has been dean of students at Grant Community High School for the past five years.
He taught math at Grant Community High School and Lake Park High School. Smith has a doctorate in education/leadership in administration and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University.

Season ticket sales for Woodstock Community Theatre productions are on sale at the Opera House.
Woodstock Musical Theatre Company will perform Gershwin’s musical, “Crazy For You,” in October; “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” starting the day after Thanksgiving; and the zany comedy, “The Fox on the Fairway,” in April.
TownSquare Players scheduled the ghostly comedy, “Blithe Spirit,” for November and the hit musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” for March.
Patrons can buy three-show or four-show season tickets with their choice of shows.
TownSquare Players and the Woodstock Musical Theatre Company have been performing quality productions at the Woodstock Opera House for 40 years.

Woodstock American Legion Post 412 – established in 1919 shortly after veterans returned from World War I in Europe – continues to provide valuable service.
Members recently elected officers for the next year: William Urch, commander; John Sorensen, senior vice commander; William Urch, finance officer; Dwayne Raney, adjutant; Michael Iwanicki, service officer; and Dwayne Raney, chaplain. Richard Schoeder has been elected junior vice commander to fill a vacancy after the death of Robert Gordon.
