CRYSTAL LAKE – Three people were injured in a four-vehicle accident on Route 14 Thursday in Crystal Lake, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Route 14 and Pingree Road at around noon for a report of a multi-vehicle accident with injuries, according to a news release. The roadway was reduced to one lane in each direction for more than an hour.

Colleen Mantor, of McHenry, was traveling eastbound on Route 14 when she rear-ended the vehicle in front of her, according to police. The impact of the collision forced the vehicle into another car, which in turn struck another motorist.
