Sox acquire reliever Myers from Houston
CHICAGO – A young, inexperienced White Sox bullpen is getting some veteran help.
The Sox acquired right-handed pitcher Brett Myers and cash considerations from the Houston Astros on Saturday for right-handed pitcher Matt Heidenreich, left-handed pitcher Blair Walters and a player to be named. Myers, 31, has a $10 million club option for 2013 with a $3 million buyout.
Myers joins a Sox bullpen that also was bolstered by the return of right-hander Jesse Crain, who was activated from the disabled list before Saturday’s game at Detroit.
