Suburban Chicago pair sentenced in teacher's death

CHICAGO – A suburban Chicago man and his girlfriend have been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 2010 robbery and murder of a retired school teacher.

Bonnie Shelesny of Arlington Heights and Steve Kellmann of Brookfield pleaded guilty Friday in Cook County Circuit Court to first-degree murder in the death of 65-year-old Marilyn Fay.

Police say Fay befriended the unemployed, 32-year-old Kellmann and let him live in her Brookfield house for a time while he sought work.
