Man gets 6 years for sex assault on young girl
WOODSTOCK – A Crystal Lake man with several cases pending was sentenced on Monday to six years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a young girl in 2003.
Andrew J. Looman, 24, had faced up to 30 years for the Class X felony. According to the criminal complaint, he performed sex acts on a girl younger than 9 years old.
The remainder of the charges against him, including failing to properly register as a sex offender by not updating his employment information, were dropped as part of the negotiated plea accepted by Judge Sharon Prather.
Looman already was on probation for two misdemeanor offenses, one of which was for criminal sexual abuse and the other for window peeping, Assistant State's Attorney Kate Lenhard said.
Court records show that he also has previous convictions for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
