To the Editor:
It seems that the McHenry County Board really is nuts. All but three members voted to give $100,000 of taxpayer money to Habitat for Humanity. Are they crazy or just not in touch?
Half the stores in the county are empty and the other half are in trouble. The newspaper prints foreclosures in the county daily. If the board wants to be nice guys, maybe they can set up a committee to work on reducing government’s out-of-control spending, which could help the unemployed in the county.
