Silhouette artist at Learning Express Toys

ALGONQUIN – One of the top silhouette artists in the world will demonstrate her little-known craft from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Learning Express Toys, 117 S. Randall Road, Algonquin.

Cindi Rose is stopping in Algonquin during a tour of Learning Express Toys stores that also will take her to Geneva, Countryside and Glen Ellyn.

Rose cuts silhouettes of individuals using French silhouette paper. She looks at her subject and begins working – there are no shadows, sketching or tracing involved. Each silhouette only takes about a minute to complete.
