Woodstock field in running for a World Series

WOODSTOCK – The city’s Emricson Park is being eyed by Little League International as a potential site for the 2013 World Series, the local league said.

The World Series would be for the league’s 50/70 Division for 11- to 13-year-old players. Little League International has World Series games for most of its divisions, the most famous being the Little League Division itself with games played in Williamsport, Pa.

Getting national and international teams to play on Woodstock fields could require some outlay by the city.
