Family sues over Anaheim police shooting of son

ANAHEIM, Calif. – An attorney says the family of an unarmed man shot to death by police this weekend has filed a civil rights lawsuit seeking $50 million.

Lawyer James Rumm says the lawsuit against the city of Anaheim and police was filed on Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court over the death of Manuel Diaz.

Police say the 25-year-old gang member was shot Saturday afternoon after officers approached three men who were acting suspiciously in an alleyway in Anaheim and the men ran away.
