Special prosecutor settles federal lawsuit with Bianchi
WOODSTOCK – A special prosecutor who put McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi on trial has settled a federal lawsuit alleging he was part of a conspiracy driven by politics and money.
Under the terms of the settlement, prosecutor Henry C. Tonigan has agreed to pay $157,500, although he does not admit to any fault.
Because of a previous agreement between Bianchi and the McHenry County Board, the county likely will get a cut of about $100,000.
