Bears arrive at training camp with high hopes
BOURBONNAIS – Bears coach Lovie Smith stood beneath a gazebo Tuesday at Olivet Nazarene University and offered a surprisingly blunt assessment of his team.
The gist of Smith’s message: The Bears could be really good this season.
“As we look at our roster coming into camp, it looks about as good as it has since I’ve been here,” said Smith, who typically resists comparisons between previous teams. “We realize that. We embrace that. We have a good football team.”
