Northwest Herald Sports Editor Eric Olson was named editor of the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb on Tuesday. The Daily Chronicle is owned by Shaw Media, which also owns the Northwest Herald.

Olson, who has worked for Shaw Media since September 2000, has been the Northwest Herald’s sports editor since February 2008. A Cary resident, he also has worked as a reporter, community news editor and business editor at the Northwest Herald.

The move is effective immediately. Northwest Herald Senior Editor Dan McCaleb said Tuesday he has begun a search for Olson’s replacement.
