A fatal shot to the chest, along with multiple shots thereafter, while saving his girlfriend’s life. The Navy sent a soldier to be with John Larimer on his final flight to come home to Illinois.
When John was stationed in Colorado, it seemed a safe place, away from war and immediate harm. John will never make his 30th birthday or have children of his own.
