More fences, better security for Lollapalooza

CHICAGO – More fences and increased security will be in place for the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago's Grant Park in an effort to avoid landscape damage and prevent gate-crashing.

Grant Park Conservancy President Bob O'Neill said bushes and flower gardens will be fenced off, forcing festival patrons onto streets that can "take a lot of impact."

Last year, heavy rains and huge crowds combined to cause damage that took months to repair. Lollapalooza's organizers paid about $1 million to install new and tougher turf.
