Spring Grove lifts burning ban

SPRING GROVE – The village of Spring Grove and the Spring Grove Fire Protection District on Friday lifted the burning ban put into effect July 13.

After a large field fire at Winn Road and Main Street, and based on drought conditions, the agencies banned burning that was not already prohibited by the McHenry County Department of Health and village ordinances.

Fire Chief Rich Tobiasz said in a news release that there had been sufficient rain over the past two weeks to renew plant growth and make burning available again.
