CHICAGO – Cubs manager Dale Sveum can’t wait for the trade deadline to finally pass.

Not only will Sveum finally be done answering questions about Ryan Dempster’s trade situation, but he also will have a set roster moving forward.

The timing of Dempster’s next start coincides with Tuesday’s 3 p.m. deadline as he takes the mound that night against Pittsburgh. While Dempster has done his best to avoid discussing any trade rumors or potential deals, Sveum said “there’s no question” the situation weighs on his pitcher because as he noted, “everybody’s human.”
