Volunteer ambassadors sought for Chicago summit

State Sen. Pam Althoff, R-McHenry, co-chairman of the 38th annual National Conference of State Legislatures Legislative Summit Aug. 6-9 in Chicago, is seeking volunteer ambassadors to assist guests during the conference.

Ambassadors are needed for a variety of activities, including assisting guests at their hotels and during motor-coach trips to the opening and closing events, working a meeting kiosks at McCormick Place, helping with the press registration and distributing a gift to each attendee at the Chicago booth in McCormick Place.

The Chicago & Beyond regional tourism office is working to recruit 40 to 50 volunteers, who would be willing to work during the actual conference. Shifts last four to five hours and are set to accommodate schedules. There will be a volunteer orientation in advance of the conference.
