To the Editor:

How much money did the Colorado shootings cost taxpayers? How much for the EMTs, police, fire, loss of business, loss of work, etc? Maybe the NRA can pay for it. They have lots of money.

I have a better idea. Ask your state legislators to pass mandatory liability insurance for gun owners. Say, a million dollars’ worth for each gun. It should be rather cheap considering the numbers of responsible gun owners. But it would pay for the carnage of some of these crazy people and run-of-the-mill criminals.
