Jacob’s grad Jager can’t wait to run Olympic steeplechase

Local Olympian Evan Jager continues raising the bar of expectations for himself.

The 2007 Jacobs graduate quickly has grown from 3,000-meter steeplechase novice to U.S. Olympian and to a possible medal contender in his four months competing in the event.

In Jager’s fifth steeplechase, the IAAF Track and Field Diamond League Meet on July 21 in Monaco, Monte Carlo, he set the U.S. record and emerged as a medal threat in London. Jager’s steeplechase preliminary race will take place around 7 a.m. CDT Friday. The steeplechase final is set for 3:25 p.m. CDT Sunday.
