36-hour fundraiser for Turning Point

CRYSTAL LAKE – Turning Point, McHenry County’s only domestic violence agency and shelter, is having a a clothing drive from 6 a.m. Aug. 10, until 6 p.m. Aug. 11 at Sam's Club, 5670 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. The drive will accept clothing for men, women and children and maternity clothes, as well as coats, hats and gloves. Clean household linens,sheets and blankets, towels, curtains and small area rugs also will be accepted, as well as shoes, purses and belts.

Clothing should be placed in large garbage bags and brought to the large white tent set up in Sam’s parking lot, directly in front of the gas station. Volunteers will be on hand to help unload clothes from vehicles. Please remove clothing from hangers and bag all items.

Star 105.5 radio personalities will be broadcasting live from the parking lot. Other activities during the event include free family movie "The Incredibles" at dusk Aug. 10 and a Family Fun Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11, with games, activities and prizes for kids of all ages.
