CHICAGO – With Matt Garza recovering from cramping in his triceps the Cubs turn to right-hander Justin Germano tonight versus the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Germano has appeared in just one game for the Cubs since joining the team July 19 after appearing in one game for the Boston Red Sox. Germano (0-1, 3.00 ERA) takes the mound tonight against second-place Pittsburgh who start left-hander Erik Bedard (5-11, 4.32).
The Cubs enter tonight's series opener having won five straight series at Wrigley Field for the first time since Aug. 1-24, 2008.
