Pedal into the night for a bicycle-friendly Crystal Lake
In collaboration with The Land Conservancy of McHenry County, the McHenry County Bicycle Advocates group is sponsoring a midnight-to-sunrise Night Owl Bike Ride fundraiser through Crystal Lake on Saturday and Sunday.
The ride aims to promote bicycling as an alternate means of transportation and exercise within Crystal Lake and benefit The Land Conservancy of McHenry County.
The ride route will start and end at the Crystal Lake City Hall complex and traverse points of interest such as the Metra Railroad station, Three Oaks Recreation Area, the city’s namesake lake, the Dole Mansion/Lakeside Arts Legacy, the library and area high schools.
Registration is $30 per adult ($40 night of the ride) and $15 per child under age 15.
Each participant will receive a reflective and safety-oriented ride T-shirt. Fifteen dollars of each adult registration is tax deductible.
Registration materials are available online at www.clnightowlride.org.
Those interested in volunteering or sponsorships should contact Ron Eberle by email at clnightowlride@gmail.com or at 815-356-0531.
