Protect from harm

To the Editor:

Re: “Do Your Math” (It’s Your Write, July 26).

Don’t pick on our fine postal carriers. My mailman, Doug, checked on me when he didn’t see for a long time when no one else did.

I am going on 70 years old. The postal rule is: If you don’t put your dog away when your mail is delivered – no mail. It’s to protect the mail person from harm. Look up in your computer and you’ll see all the mail carriers being bitten by so-called “my dog doesn’t bite.”
