I recently volunteered at the Duck Races in Woodstock. It was a fundraiser supporting hospice. What a great day – sunshine and lots of smiling faces. Events like this always need many volunteers.

How did I get connected? I knew I had no plans for the weekend and didn’t want to just sit around. So I hopped on www.volunteermchenrycounty.org and looked at the community calendar and volunteer needs. It was easy!

By the way, kudos to Kohl’s, Centegra and Sage organizations that sent volunteers to help with the Duck Races. It is always great to see local businesses caring about their community.
