WONDER LAKE – Four area teens are believed to be responsible for at least 30 vehicle burglaries during the early morning hours Friday in Wonder Lake, authorities said.

Nicholas Stompanato, 17, of McHenry, was charged with felony burglary to a motor vehicle and separate, misdemeanor counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. Three Wonder Lake teens were charged as juveniles.

Officers were called to the area near Deep Spring Road about 5:45 a.m. on reports of suspicious persons and multiple motor vehicle burglaries, Wonder Lake Police Chief Larry Mason said. Four teens later were found walking with large tote bags.
