Gun laws
To the Editor:
As expected, the recent tragedy in Colorado brought the antigun people out of the woodwork in droves. Like vultures, they descended upon the victims of this tragedy by proclaiming that stricter gun control laws would have prevented it. Hogwash!
The fact that the firearms used in this case were obtained legally is immaterial. It means only that the perpetrator somehow slipped through the cracks in our protective wall and that these cracks must be repaired, not the whole wall torn down. History has proved that criminals can always get guns, either by stealing them or obtaining them through underground sources.
