Our view: Patience during latest road work

As if getting around McHenry County wasn’t difficult enough during this summer of non-stop road construction, a few more projects are being added to the mix.

Pavement patching began Wednesday on Route 14 between Bunker Hill Road and the Wisconsin state line in Harvard, Route 23 from Route 176 to Route 14 in Marengo, and Route 176 from Route 47 to Route 14 in Woodstock.

The Illinois Department of Transportation said motorists should expect delays during daytime hours because each of these projects, with a total price tag of $1.1 million, require lane closures.
