Poorly planned

To the Editor:

I’d like to voice my disappointment with the city of Algonquin regarding the debacle that was this years Founder’s Day parade. The traffic surrounding the Route 31/Algonquin Road intersection was unfathomable and absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the dozen near-collisions I witnessed from drivers either disobeying traffic laws, regular driver etiquette, or performing illegal U-turns into oncoming traffic or in front of other motorists traveling in the same direction.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to close half the lanes and cripple the busiest road in town during the busiest time of day on the busiest day of the week should face some consequences for inconveniencing the thousands of people who had no interest in the parade and were merely trying to go places and do things; or, in my case, trying to get to work.
