Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

As parents stock up on school supplies, clothing and pantry needs for the new school year, they will be able to earn cash for their schools through Box Tops for Education, the nation's largest school fundraising program.

Clipping Box Tops for Education coupons from 240 products has earned American K-8 schools more than $475 million since the program started in 1996. Schools use the cash for the things they need most, such as textbooks, technology, field trips, musical instruments, classroom supplies and teacher scholarships.

Ten-cent Box Tops coupons clipped from more than 240 products and shopping 200 online eBoxTops retailers allow schools to earn thousands for the things they need most, including textbooks, classroom technology, field trips, musical instruments, playground equipment and teacher scholarships.

On average, schools in the U.S. earn around $900 annually through the program, but many schools earn more than $20,000 by clipping coupons, participating in Box Tops bonus programs and shopping the online Box Tops Marketplace.

Back-to-school bonus product offerings, as well as special earning programs from Wal-Mart, Jewel-Osco and Sam's Club, will provide schools the opportunity to earn hundreds of thousands of Box Tops.

"Now with more ways to earn cash for schools through added products, sweepstakes and retailer bonus programs, Box Tops for Education and its partners aim to boost school revenue and improve the quality of education," said Gail Peterson, director of Box Tops for Education. "Parents, friends and neighbors can all contribute to a school's success by purchasing products with Box Tops coupons or participating in these bonus programs. Last school year alone, schools nationally earned $74 million through the program."

U.S. schools have earned more than $475 million through the Box Tops for Education program since the program started in 1996, including more than $74 million during the 2011-2012 school year. More than 90,000 schools use that cash to purchase items such as computers, library books, art supplies and playground equipment. Schools can earn up to $20,000 by clipping Box Tops coupons from 240 products and can earn eBoxTops by shopping online through the Box Tops Marketplace.
