Event to aid campaign for performing arts center

WEST DUNDEE – Friends of West Dundee’s proposed Fox Performing Arts Center will host a “Celebrate the Arts” event at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at OTTO Engineering, 11 W. Main St., Carpentersville, to raise money toward the center.

The Friends group of business leaders, neighbors, thespians, musicians and arts patrons has secured more than $181,000 in pledges and donations to demonstrate local support for the creation of a state-of-the-art, 258-seat performing arts center in West Dundee. The group also has collected hundreds of petition signatures.

The Aug. 10 event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a wine bar and eclectic entertainment that celebrates the visual and performing arts.

Tickets cost $25 per person, or $85 for four, and include food and beverage. They are available online at www.foxartscenter.com. Corporate table sponsorships also are available.

The proposed site for the performing arts center is the former Ziegler Ace Hardware building at 118 S. First St., West Dundee.

Besides semi-equity and community theater productions, the Fox is envisioned as a venue-of-choice for local dance companies, choir and chamber programs, K-12 educational theater and other art showcases.

For information about the proposed center, an online petition, tickets to the Celebrate the Arts Aug. 10 event, and to pledge support, visit www.foxartscenter.com.
