Real kids to be in mock disaster for hospital training
BARRINGTON – Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital will host its annual Pediatric Disaster Preparedness Exercise from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the hospital, 450 W. Route 22.
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is one of the only hospitals in the area to conduct a pediatric disaster drill using staff members’ children to make the experience as realistic as possible for the emergency caregivers.
The exercise not only prepares staff for a pediatric disaster, but also helps staff realize what they need to teach their children in case of an emergency.
